Join us for a docent tour of Dress Rehearsal! Dress Rehearsal showcases numerous and unexpected ways a dress can be depicted and interpreted. Using out-of-the-ordinary mediums expressed through sculpture, installation, painting, photography, and collage, this exhibition celebrates both the imagination of the artists and the theatrical nature for which the show is named.

Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles
In partnership with The Liberty School at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station and Dewey Elementary School
Every year during the months of September and October, Visions Art Museum partners with The Liberty School at ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station and hosts third grade students from neighboring Dewey Elementary School. Most of the third graders at Dewey Elementary are military dependents who struggle emotionally with Mom or Dad deployed for long periods, creating single-parent households. They are challenged in school because frequent moves mean new schools, new curriculum and always making new friends.
Visions Art Museum coordinates art-making experiences with the third grade curriculum. The students walk from school to the museum once a week and participate in a four week project that includes drawing, design, and sewing. Each student creates his or her own quilted fabric art pieces which are then displayed in the museum.
The students learn the vocabulary of art through problem solving and organization. Most importantly, however, they gain self-awareness and discover the pride of making their own individual hand-stitched quilts.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
As part of VAM’s mission to promote quilt, textile and fiber art, the museum offers a variety of classes, workshops, events, and excursions. In order to keep these programs sustainable, we have updated our cancellation policy. The policy is outlined below and is effective as of September 1, 2019.
Thank you for being a part of the VAM Community, and we hope to see you at a class or event soon!
Effective for those registering after 1 September 2019
At Visions Art Museum, we understand that sometimes individuals need to cancel a registration for a program for which they have enrolled. VAM’s cancellation policy varies by program. Please read below for specific information.
Note: the following applies for all classes, workshops, events, programs, and excursions
- When a student cancels, the registration fee may not be applied toward registration for another class, workshop, or other program.
- If a cancellation is due to financial exigency or medical emergency, please contact the Executive Director.
Classes, Events, and Single Day Programs
No refund will be given.
Multi-day Workshops and Programs
A refund must be requested in writing to publications@visionsartmuseum.org at least 30 days prior to the first day of the program.
No refunds will be issued for requests less than 30 days prior unless:
- Someone on the wait list is available to fill the spot. In such cases, the refund minus the administration fee will be made only after the new student has paid for the class, workshop, or event.
- If no one is on the wait list, the registrant identifies a person to take her/his place. In such cases, the refund minus the administration fee will be made only after the new student has paid for the class, workshop, or event.
A 20% processing fee will be applied to all cancellations that are reassigned to another student.
Cancellation for VAM Voyage Excursions
As VAM Voyage experiences are created in partnership with other organizations, registration and cancellation policies will vary by excursion.
