Interpretations: Celebrating 30 Years

A trio of international jurors selected 32 contemporary quilts from 248 entries for Interpretations: Celebrating 30 Years. The commemorative exhibition marks the 30th year since the founding of Quilt San Diego, now Visions Art Museum: Contemporary Quilts + Textiles in the arts and culture district of Liberty Station, San Diego, California.
Jurors Dena Dale Crain, Kenya; Noriko Endo, Japan; and Alicia Merrett, United Kingdom, have created a stunning exhibition of outstanding works of art that go on view October 17th with an opening reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Admission is $7 for non-museum members.
Although the artists reside throughout the United States, Europe and Thailand, 10 of the selected artists reside in California confirming there is a deep pool of talent in the state. The California artists are Linda Anderson, Patricia Charity, Cuauhtémoc Q. Kish, Paulette Landers, Viviana Lombrozo, Kathleen McCabe, Kathy Nida, Dan Olfe, Ann Olsen, and Sandra Poteet.
Representing 13 other states and three foreign countries are Jill Ault, Edith Bieri-Hanselmann, Peggy Brown, Marianne Burr, Betty Busby, Lisa Flowers Ross, Melanie Grant, Michelle Jackson, Catherine Kleeman, Brigette Kopp, Lea McComas, Melody Money, Hilde Morin, Kathleen Probst, Wen Redmond, Joan Schulze, Janice Stevens, Carol Trice, K. Velis Turan, Barbara Watler, Shea Wilkinson, and Charlotte Ziebarth.
