The Sponsor's Award is given by Rosie Gonzalez of Rosie's Calico Cupboard Quilt Shop who selected Patricia Goffette to receive the award for Polar Prowler. Rosie said, "I was looking at the photos of the quilts and this one stopped me cold. A bear was walking right out of the picture to me. It was awesome. Not scary or ominous or menacing, just goose-bumps awesome. Because I love fabric, I was very impressed by the artist's use of so many different fabrics to make a quilt that actually gives the feeling of a real bear. My congratulations to Patricia Goffette."
